What coverage options does ConnexMarine offer?

+

ConnexMarine offers multiple marine service contracts designed to help protect your boat from the cost of unexpected mechanical breakdowns after the manufacturer's warranty expires or when warranty coverage is no longer available. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all solution, ConnexMarine provides multiple coverage options with varying levels of protection. Whether you're looking for essential engine coverage or more comprehensive protection for your boat's major mechanical and electrical systems, you can choose the option that best fits your vessel, boating lifestyle, and budget.

Why should I consider a ConnexMarine service contract?

+

Unexpected mechanical failures can happen even with proper maintenance. A ConnexMarine service contract helps reduce the financial impact of covered repairs, giving you added confidence every time you head out on the water. It's an investment in protecting both your boat and your boating experience.

Is a ConnexMarine service contract the same as boat insurance?

+

No. Boat insurance helps protect against accidents, theft, storms, fire, and liability. A ConnexMarine service contract helps cover eligible mechanical and electrical component failures outlined in your service agreement. Together, they provide more complete protection for your boat.

What types of boats are eligible for coverage?

+

Coverage is available for many recreational boats that meet program eligibility requirements. Eligibility may vary based on factors such as your boat's age, condition, and other program guidelines. If you're unsure whether your boat qualifies, the ConnexMarine team is happy to answer your questions.

What do the different coverage options include?

+

Each ConnexMarine coverage option is designed to provide a different level of protection. Depending on the plan you choose, coverage may include eligible engine components, transmission and drive systems, steering, cooling, fuel delivery, electrical systems, and many other major boat components.

How do I know exactly what's covered?

+

Every covered component, along with exclusions and limitations, is clearly listed in your service agreement. Reviewing your agreement is the best way to understand your specific coverage and benefits.

Are routine maintenance services covered?

+

No. Routine maintenance such as oil changes, tune-ups, inspections, filters, fluids, and other scheduled services are the responsibility of the boat owner unless specifically stated in your service agreement.

Are pre-existing conditions covered?

+

No. Mechanical failures or conditions that existed before your service contract became effective are not covered.

Is there a deductible?

+

Yes. A $100 deductible applies per covered repair visit. Once your repair has been approved, you'll pay the deductible and eligible repair costs will be handled according to the terms of your service agreement.

How do I file a claim?

+

If your boat experiences a covered mechanical failure, contact the claims department before any repairs begin. The claims team will work with your repair facility to obtain authorization and help guide you through the claims process.

Do repairs need to be authorized before work begins?

+

Yes. Authorization is required before repairs begin. Starting repairs without prior approval may affect your coverage eligibility, so it's important to contact the claims department as soon as a covered mechanical issue is identified.

Can I choose my own repair facility?

+

In many cases, yes. If you already have a preferred repair facility, the claims team will work directly with them whenever possible. If you need assistance finding a qualified repair facility, ConnexMarine can help guide you through the process.

What happens after my claim is approved?

+

Once your claim has been authorized, the repair facility completes the covered repairs. You are responsible for your deductible, while eligible repair costs are handled according to the terms of your service agreement.

Are covered repairs guaranteed?

+

Yes. Covered repairs include a 90-day parts guarantee and a 30-day labor guarantee. If the same covered repair fails during the applicable guarantee period, no additional deductible is required.

Can I transfer my service contract if I sell my boat?

+

Transfer eligibility depends on the terms of your specific service agreement. If your contract qualifies, transferring coverage may add value for the next owner and provide continued protection.

When should I purchase coverage?

+

The best time to purchase a ConnexMarine service contract is before unexpected mechanical breakdowns occur. Purchasing coverage early helps ensure your boat is protected when you need it most and allows you to choose the coverage option that best fits your boating needs. Eligibility requirements may apply based on your vessel.

How long does coverage last?

+

Coverage terms vary depending on the coverage option you choose and your boat's eligibility. If you'd like help selecting the right coverage term, the ConnexMarine team is happy to answer your questions.
